This year marks the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. We are celebrating not only the birthday of a substantial intergovernmental organization, but also a cornerstone of world order, peacemaking efforts, human rights, and humanity’s security.
We have entered the last decade remaining for fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. However, the world as we know it is marked by increasing patterns of violence, rising inequalities, climate change, major population dynamics, etc.
By this mean, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres launched the UN75 dialogue (“UN75”), a global conversation on how the UN can work harder to create a better future for all and a call for accelerating sustainable solutions to all the world’s biggest challenges to meet the sustainable development goals by 2030.
In this framework, The United Nations in Albania in partnership with United Nations Association Albania have joined efforts on successfully implementing the UN75 dialogue in Albania and spreading the information on DoA. The project will be centered around young Albanians, gathering their perceptions and ideas on the present and future of the world as well as their recommendations and possible solutions to the challenges that the local and global community is facing. They will be using diverse methods to share the information and collect the results varying from short surveys, online forums and online campaigns, social media Q&As, Youtube vlogs and focus group meetings.
